Signing Off

From May 2011 to early 2014, during the presidential terms of Nat Hilliard (2011 – 2013) and Dan Beto (2013 – 2014), Heritage Brazos served as the electronic newsletter of the Brazos Heritage Society.  During this period the publication carried news items from the organization’s newsletters, special notices, and other items of interest to its members.  With the creation and maintenance of a new website and Facebook page, this electronic newsletter no longer is necessary.

Since its inception, this newsletter has been visited 18,032 times, and by people from the following countries: Albania, Algeria, Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Belarus, Benin, Brazil, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Canada, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cote d’Ivoire, Czech Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, Finland, France, Gabon, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Malaysia, Mexico, Morocco, Namibia, Netherlands, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Sir Lanka, Slovakia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, Togo, Turkey, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States of America, Venezuela, and Vietnam.

TSHA Riding Line Online

Exploring History Lunch Lecture Series

The College Station Historic Preservation Committee and the Senior Advisory Committee have developed an outstanding Exploring History Lunch Lectures Series for 2013.  Please join them on April 16, 2014, at the Aldersgate Church, as they present:

The program allows you to explore the development of Texas A&M University using overlaying maps.  

The luncheon is $5.00 per person, payable at the door, and begins at 11:30 AM in the Aldersgate United Methodist Church at 2201 Earl Rudder Freeway in College Station., and the program begins at noon.

Parking is available in the main lot to the south of the building.  Enter through the main double doors, take a left, and you will be directed to the meeting room.   In case you are not familiar with this facility, it is located just north of Academy, Gander Mountain, and Dickey’s, on the frontage road between Southwest Parkway and Harvey Road. 

Reservations are required and must be made with Marci Rodgers, Senior Services Coordinator, College Station Parks & Recreation Department, at mrodgers@cstx.gov or by calling 979-764-6351.

The April 2014 issue of the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame Newsletter is now available online.  Found in this informative publication are activities related to Texas heritage and law enforcement.


The Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum in Waco is exceptionally well done.  Visiting this outstanding museum is an easy day trip from the Bryan-College Station area and well worth the time.
