Happenings in College Station

The Brazos Heritage Society has been a supporter and donor to an effort to restore Richard Carter Park.  Because of the Society’s support, the following email was received from the leadership of the A&M Garden Club:

Again, thank you for your contributions for improving Richard Carter Park, College Station’s only park with historical significance.  The 15 historic panels in the Interpretative Center have been replaced and are being installed this week.  Other improvements coordinated by the A&M Garden Club with several groups included landscaping to replant trees, shrubs, and native plants and seeds which was done March 23 and October 26, 2013.

The Rededication Ceremony will be Friday, November 15, 11:00 AM, 1800 Brazoswood, College Station.  We hope you will attend to be introduced.

We’ve had great response and increased community appreciation of Richard Carter Park and more awareness of the history of College Station.  College Station is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.  The College Station exhibit at the Bush Library will be open on Saturday, November 16, from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Members of the Society are encouraged to attend the Rededication Ceremony and the opening of the College Station Exhibit at the George Bush Library and Museum.
